Welcome to the website for Swedish glass artists and designers. On this site you can search for information and pictures of our members and find out more about glass techniques and related artists. You can also find a calender about current glass events and exhibitions.

Glasakademin is an organization for Swedish glass artists. Its aim is to spread information, inspiration and knowledge about Swedish studio glass. Most glass techniques and expressions are represented by the approximately 70 members of Glasakademin.

Glasakademin offers a meeting point on the Internet for everyone who is working with or is interested in experimental glass work. The website gives a presentation of the organization, its members, activities and regulations. We also publish news from the glass world, with reports from congresses, exhibitions, awards and other current events.

One of the first goals for Glasakademin was to work for the establishment of a Swedish studio glass museum. Works donated from the members of Glasakademin made it possible to open a permanent studio glass exhibition at Smålands Museum - Sweden's Museum of Glass in Växjö, in May 2008. Glasakademin is helping Smålands Museum - Sweden's Museum of Glass develop their studio glass collection. The archives of Glasakademin can be found at Smålandsmuseum and they are open to the public.
